Our Client is very much an industry leader who offer the full range of ink & coating solutions technology for Commercial, Packaging and Digital Print applications.

The role reports directly to the MD and is supported by a Laboratory Technician.

Qualifications

Preferably degree or above in Chemistry or related science discipline - however other qualification in Chemistry, with appropriate Industry experience, will be taken into consideration.

The successful Candidate must have significant experience in the surface coatings industry.

Additional experience required includes excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office
and SAP is desirable.

Job purpose:

Lead development of products for European label and packaging market sector.
Provide technical support to customers, manufacturing sites and sales team.

Duties and responsibilities:

Ensure safe and clean working practices within the laboratory are implemented and adhered to.
Maintain relevant technical and safety records.
Advise manufacturing functions within the business on safety and handling requirements for raw materials.
Engage with raw material suppliers to ensure most up to date information and technology is available to the business.
Lead a small team in the formulation of inks and coatings for customers in the European, Middle East and African market sectors.
Build and maintain relationships with key individuals within customer organisations.
Manage project goals, tasks and timescales on a variety of short, mid and long-term projects.
Collate, analyse and report technical data to other areas of the business and customers.
Provide technical guidance, assistance and training on products to UK and international customers and other business functions.
Investigate and resolve customer complaints.
Co-ordinate reworking of ageing and spoiled inventory.
