Our client is niche printing company specialising in high quality print & packaging. They are always keen to take on exciting bespoke projects for design agencies and blue-chip companies, and therefore need a production expert to ensure the smooth running of the department through efficient scheduling, quality control and development of other team members. Converting printed material to finished paper-over-board products will also play a key part to this role.
They pride themselves in achieving outstanding solutions, therefore are looking for a meticulous, hard-working individual with a keen eye to detail, keeping to the highest of standards and quality checking procedures throughout. Candidates must have experience in all the finishing processes including laminating, trimming, creasing & folding, die cutting, binding, booklet making, punching and drilling. In addition to this, you will act as a paper over board finisher, using manual and automated POB equipment – creasing & riveting, cover wrapping & lining, taping, box forming, corner cutting.
Our client is open to a range of operating/finishing applicants, and will offer training, however you must have experience in the printing industry to apply.
In terms of scheduling and process management, key responsibilities and accountabilities will include the following:
• Transferring jobs onto the production schedule
• Allocating and distributing work to staff
• Checking the accuracy and viability of the product specification
• Oversight of quality control in your area
• Training of production staff
• Knowing & endorsing the systems and ensuring team members are adhering to them
Lead times can often be highly demanding, therefore you must also be able to prioritise tasks and think logically and methodically. You must be able to work well in a team and communicate efficiently with piers.
